London’s Top Venues for Unforgettable Events: An Insider’s View

Exploring the Diversity of London Venues for Events

It’s not difficult to see why London has retained its position as the top ‘European City for Events’ in 2023, according to Business Travel News Europe. As a vibrant and multicultural city, not only is our capital well connected, rich in heritage and a hot-spot for new technology but it’s also absolutely brimming with new and unique event spaces which means that no two days when venue finding are ever the same. Through regular site visits as well as attending industry networking events and familiarisation trips, I am fortunate that one of the very best parts of my job at Park Lane Events is the opportunity that I get to visit so many of these wonderful properties in London and the surrounding areas and report back my findings via my webinars, blogs and social media.

Innovations in London Venues: Refurbishments and New Spaces

Hotels and venues are constantly seeing refurbishment and investment to stay ahead of the competition and keeping up-to-date with who’s doing what, where and when can sometimes seem like an overwhelming task. Prior to Christmas, I was approached by the team at CHS Events and asked to lead some educational sessions in the PA Lounge at the CHS show in Birmingham – alongside other current topics, one of these sessions focused on venues in London that I think are definitely worth checking out.

Historic Meets Modern: Venue Finding in London

If you like the idea of combining the old with the new, then the likes of Camm and Hooper represent an impressive range of historical and iconic venues that are sure to tick those event planning boxes. From the opulent Victorian Bath House in Bishopsgate that dates back to 1817 and can accommodate up to 150 guests, to the more contemporary blank canvas that is 26 Leake Street, located underneath Waterloo station and holding a capacity of more than 1200, their venues are testament to how it’s possible to repurpose and breathe new life into historic spaces. Another gem that sits under the Camm and Hooper umbrella is Jeru Mayfair, a Mediterranean restaurant that offers three distinct spaces for event hire or the option to hire the restaurant exclusively for up to 150 guests and promises a culinary journey that’s certain to tickle your tastebuds!

New and Noteworthy London Venues for Exceptional Events

For those that prefer to use a brand, shiny new venue for their events then perhaps it’s worth taking a look at The Peninsula where you can experience five star luxury in the heart of Belgravia. When it comes to events, they can accommodate up to an impressive 1200 in their largest space and promise the highest levels of ‘superb culinary offerings, luxury transport, and legendary Peninsula service’. Keeping with the theme of new venues, Oceandiva opened its doors in 2023 and is proud to be the first revolutionary CO2-neutral event venue on the River Thames. With sustainability at the forefront, this unique venue offers the ability to host static or sailing events in the heart of the City for up to 400/500 seated and 1500 standing.

Discovering Hidden Gems: Unique London Venues

Or perhaps you prefer to opt for one of London’s ‘hidden treasure’ venues of which there are many! One of my favourites has to be 34 Bloomsbury; whilst it might not have the razzle-dazzle of some of the big names, this newly renovated 1850’s Georgian townhouse effortlessly combines contemporary style with its rich heritage, creating four rooms across two floors, as well as an urban garden that can be used in those warmer summer months.

Conclusion: A Rich Variety for Venue Finding in London

So whether it’s five star luxury at the top of your wishlist, or something a little out of the ordinary that will keep your delegates talking, it’s clear that our capital has something for everyone – the only question is what kind of venue do you choose?!
