Discovering London’s Finest Venues: A Personal Journey
One of the best things about my job is having the opportunity to visit so many venues in our wonderful capital. London is packed to the brim with so many fabulous properties and it’s vital for me to keep up to date with new openings, visit those who have had refurbishments and check out who’s working where. Although the pandemic was damaging to the hospitality industry on many levels, one of the few positives that came out of that dreadful time was that it allowed many companies to invest in their properties while they were empty for months on end.
A Historic Gem: The London Hilton on Park Lane
One of those properties that has seen a total refurb over the last couple of years and that I was lucky enough to visit recently was the fabulous London Hilton on Park Lane. As their namesake gives away, this stunning property can be found on Park Lane in London and was the first ever Hilton property to open in the UK back in 1963.
Prime Location and Luxurious Amenities
If location, location, location is at the top of your event wish-list, then they don’t get much better than this. Overlooking Hyde Park and only within half a mile of Green Park and Buckingham Palace, the hotel has seen a multimillion pound refurbishment over the last few years and really does offer the five star experience.
Touring the Refurbished Hilton with a Personal Touch
I recently visited the property for a grand tour with Anissa, my National Account Manager who took the time to show me around the property and the impressive investment that it has received. From their fabulous ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,350 guests to their 16 flexible meeting rooms; they really do have a space that will tick the box for every kind of event and when it comes to dining, you’re spoilt for choice with Galvin at Windows – their stunning rooftop restaurant on the 28th floor along with the 10 Degrees Sky Bar, both offering amazing vistas across the capital.
Celebrating a Milestone: The 60th Anniversary
The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed above that as the hotel was opened in 1963, it recently celebrated a rather special 60th anniversary. Along with other industry and event professionals, I was delighted to also be invited to join their celebrations and see the property again in all its refurbished glory!
A Night to Remember: The Anniversary Event
You know an event is going to be a good one when you’re greeted with a trumpet fanfare and the evening certainly didn’t disappoint. From a stunning champagne garden wall on arrival to ice sculptures, live entertainment from a retro band and all set beneath the original crystal chandeliers, the whole evening was a feast for the senses.
A Nostalgic Culinary Journey and Gratitude
In keeping with the ‘60th’ birthday theme, we were treated to a retro-style dinner with everyone’s old-school favourites (who remembers flying saucers?!) whilst circus-style entertainers took to the floor and showed us their incredible moves – it was so good to see their event space in full flow and how their team work seamlessly together to create a five-star guest experience.
Contact for Future Events
I’d like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to Anissa and the team for inviting me to share the celebrations; if you’d like to know more about London Hilton on Park Lane and what it might be able to offer for your next event, please contact me on [email protected].
