Counting down to CHS Birmingham

This time of year is always a busy one for Park Lane Events as I wrap up our contracted events for the year, look ahead to 2024 and countdown to Christmas.

Preparing for CHS Birmingham: The Annual Highlight

It’s also a busy time in my exhibition calendar; as well as recently attending the BNC Show and joining the Unique Venues of London Event Agent panel at the Houses of Parliament, next up is CHS Birmingham that takes place on October 31st at the ICC. This event always takes pride of place in my diary (along with their sister event – CHS Leeds) – not only does it allow me to familiarize myself with the movers and the shakers in the hotel, venue and event supplier world, but it also presents the perfect environment for me to connect and catch-up with my industry colleagues and friends face-to-face.

The Importance of Face-to-Face Networking in the Events Industry

That’s the great thing about our amazing industry – I’m so lucky that many of my contacts have become firm friends over the years. Working in hospitality is like one big support network that always has your back and when you work remotely for yourself, events such as this are invaluable and an integral part of my Park Lane Events calendar!

Personal Development Opportunities at CHS Birmingham

When you work for yourself, it’s also tricky to carve out time to focus on your own personal and professional development and the team behind CHS Birmingham recognize this. As part of their educational programme, they will be delivering sessions around the theme of ‘Love Life. Your Events, Your Career, Your Wellbeing’ with guest speakers, panel sessions and seminars all aimed to offer practical guidance and tips to help support our day-to-day lives as event professionals.

Introducing the ‘PA Lounge’: A Space for PAs, EAs, and Office Managers

New to 2023 is also the inclusion of their ‘PA Lounge’ which has been introduced exclusively for PAs, EAs and Office Managers and I’m delighted to have been approached by CHS Events to facilitate a series of four educational drop-in discussions around the topics of New Venues, London Venues, Back-to-Basics and Christmas Parties.

Navigating the World of New and Upgraded Venues

With so many venues opening or experiencing upgrades, I’ll share what’s new in the UK and internationally and advise on what best to do if your event takes place during an unexpected refurbishment!

Demystifying Event Jargon and Pricing Structures

If you’re new to booking events, I’ll also be busting through some of the event jargon that’s so widely used as well as explaining some pricing structures that can often confuse.

The Perks of Early Christmas Party Bookings

And with Christmas less than 60 days away, I’ll be sharing the benefits of booking early, updating on packages and availability and offering my tips and tricks for booking the right venues at the right price.

Interactive Sessions at CHS: Sharing Experiences and Knowledge

If you’re planning on dropping in, do come armed with any questions that you may have or challenges that you’re currently facing and I’ll do my very best to help – the sessions will take a relaxed, round table format and will be interactive and informal to allow for lots of conversations and shared experiences. I’m so looking forward to joining CHS and the team, sharing my insights and talking about what I love to do!
