The Benefits of Outdoor Corporate Events in London
The clocks have sprung forward, spring has finally arrived, and I, like many others, couldn’t be happier to welcome the promise of sunnier climates with longer days and warmer temperatures. This time of year also means that when it comes to venue finding for my clients, I am keeping my beady eye on those last minute ‘pop up’ summer venues or the long awaited new or refurbished gardens, terraces and rooftops that will be suitable for my client’s wonderful London corporate events.
Maximising Employee Well-being with Outdoor Venues
We all know that taking corporate and social events into the great outdoors can have huge benefits for both employers and employees. It’s no secret that spending time outdoors is proven to reduce stress and anxiety levels and so by incorporating outdoor elements into corporate events, employers demonstrate a commitment to employee well-being, resulting in a happier and more relaxed workforce. Time away from the confines of an office can also lead to improved working relationships, increased productivity and more creative thinking….so in the words of Hot Chocolate ‘Everyone’s a Winner (baby!)’
Navigating the Challenges of Summer Event Planning in London
Of course, planning summer events comes with its own set of challenges, especially when it comes to our unpredictable weather. Whilst our hope is that we will have a long, hot summer ahead of us, realistically, we need to bear in mind that the good old British weather can always be relied upon to throw a spanner in the works from time to time. Fortunately in the UK, we are all used to this and so most venues will quote on this basis, offering an indoor or ‘wet weather’ option so that all eventualities are covered. Although surely, the amount of rain we have had over the last few months must mean that we’ve had our quota for the rest of the year?! We can but hope!
Discovering Unique London Venues for Summer Events
When it comes to sourcing suitable venues in and around London for social and corporate events, there is a huge range of options out there to choose from with more being refurbished and opened year on year. From historical landmarks and hidden garden terraces to contemporary rooftop bars with a view, our capital city really does offer something for every taste and budget, provided you know where to look and who to contact for that quick turn-around.
Treehouse Marylebone: A Sky-High Retreat for Summer Events
With an iconic location and boasting world-class views of the London Eye, The Shard, Canary Wharf and Regent’s Park, Treehouse in Marylebone is a fabulous option for summer event hire. The venue offers various options from intimate parties to exclusive use of the whole venue including a stunning balcony which is wrapped around some of their event space; as they say themselves, ‘The world is your playground, and Treehouse London is your home base’ – this is definitely one to check out!
Blue Orchid Hotels: A Luxurious Choice for Corporate Events
Blue Orchid Hotels is another one to add to the shortlist whose well-located properties offer contemporary luxury in the heart of the city. From intimate events in leafy Westminster at The Wellington to the wonderful Skyline at Tower Bridge where they boast of ‘unrivalled panoramic views that stretch across the London skyline’, this really is a beautiful space where up to 300 guests can come together to enjoy this spectacular view!
Uncommon Venues for Unforgettable Summer Evenings
Another venue that has been very popular with my clients is Uncommon Liverpool Street where exclusive use is the only option when it comes to evening event hire. With a maximum capacity of 80, this is the perfect location to watch the sun set over a glass of wine, take in the amazing views of London or enjoy a cocktail or two and live DJ set.
34 Bloomsbury: A Georgian Gem for Summer Gatherings
I do love a new venue and 34 Bloomsbury is one of my favourites! This gorgeous, newly renovated Georgian house opened last year and can accommodate up to 75 guests in their urban garden which is open for bookings this summer. Alternatively, for larger events requiring more space, the whole townhouse and garden can be hired exclusively for up to 110 guests on a dry-hire basis.
Experience Italian Elegance at Theo’s on the Terrace
And last but by no means least, today’s choice on Park Lane would have to be Theo’s on the Terrace at the Intercontinental London Park Lane who are proud to house the capital’s best Italian restaurant. Set under lemon trees and inspired by Theo Randall’s Italian travels, I love that the terrace offers an exceptional dining experience for its guests as well as also being able to watch the world go by!
